One of them loves his international trips; the other one believed in grabbing women by the p***y. Their coming into power spelled a phenomenal change in their respective nations’ political climate. One of them likes to hug; the other prefers an awkward handshake. Despite likenesses and differences, India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the President of the United States, Donald J Trump seem to share a rather efficient working dynamic.
Now we’ve all had a colleague at work who we share a great relationship with, though at times are displeased by their working style. So what do we do? We find a way to sugarcoat our complaints so as to keep the peace but also convey our displeasure. And looks like Trump’s mastered that art quite fantastically!
At a meeting with state governors at the White House, POTUS Donald Trump managed to sweetly troll PM Narendra Modi for his recent trade policies about the tariff levied on Harley-Davidson bikes sold in India.
So what’s the big fuss about these mean machines that’s got Trump turning full-fledged ‘Mean Girls’ on his pal Modi?
Okay, let’s see. India levies a 100% tariff of motorcycles that are larger than 800cc—case in point, the Harley-Davidson bikes, which are a US import.
However, Indian motorbikes in the US are free of any tariff, which seems to be the chief bone of contention between Trump and Modi.
In his speech, Trump was referring to a recent phone call between him and PM Modi, where the latter informed him that the tariff levied on the Harley-Davidson bikes would now be slashed by 50%. Alas, the POTUS does not seem to happy by this ‘favour’.
“Now, the Prime Minister, who I think is a fantastic man, called me the other day. He said, ‘We are lowering it (the tariff on Harley-Davidson) to 50%.’ I said, ‘Okay, but so far we’re getting nothing’.”
It is quite evident that Trump finds nothing ‘fantastic’ about this recent development because according to him, the American motorcycle manufacturer is being “ripped off”.
In a nutshell, Trump believe NaMo to be “a beautiful man,” who said it all so “beautifully”. But he’s not having any of this unfair business, no sir! And here’s the full video of his rant!
