We have come across many stories of thieves getting overcome by their emotions. For instance, a Tamil Nadu thief left an angry note for a shop owner because the cash register was empty, or how another thief was caught on camera showcasing his dancing skills before his robbery attempt in Delhi.
As per a report in Times Now, on the intervening night of February 16 and 17, two thieves broke into a public service centre owned by a man named Nawab Haider in the Kotwali Dehat area. In the police complaint, Haider mentioned that over Rs. 7 lakh had been stolen from his centre. The police then registered a case against the unidentified miscreants.
Soon, both the thieves, identified as Naushad and Ajaj, were arrested in connection to the robbery from Alipur. Declaring The police seized 2 pistols and Rs 3.7 lakh cash from their possession. A bike lifted from Phulsanda village was also impounded. Declaring the case solved, the SP under the Nagina police station area announced a reward of Rs. 5,000 for the police team who cracked the case.
The matter came to light after the police interrogation. The SP said, “The accused are habitual offenders and have several cases registered against them at different police stations. They confessed to have committed a robbery at the public service center and fled with Rs 7 lakh cash and other valuables kept in an almirah.”
He further explained, “The accused told the police that they had thought of mere thousands of rupees at the centre, but were overjoyed after getting the huge amount of money. They divided the money evenly.”
Soon after the theft, one of the thieves Ajaj couldn’t control his excitement after realizing that he had stolen much more than what he was expecting. He subsequently suffered a heart attack and had to spend a large amount of the stolen money on his treatment in a private hospital. Naushad, on the other hand, spent the money on betting in Delhi.
