Somebody Told The Rock That Wrestling Isn’t Real And He Choke-Slammed The Guy With His Reply

Never, ever, EVER tell a sportsperson that the game he plays isn’t a REAL SPORT. Because chances are that he is way, way fitter and stronger than you are, and could punch you through a wall.

Especially if that sportsperson is Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. Just don’t.

The one-time professional wrestler may have moved on to greener pastures of Hollywood, but the ring will always remain The Rock’s first love. And he does show his support for the game time and again, like this Sunday, when he tweeted about the return of a friend and fellow pro wrestler, Kurt Angle.

Now all was fine and good in this world until one silly, silly human decided to ruin it by tweeting to Dwayne Johnson that wrestling wasn’t a real sport.

Some people don’t have a single ounce of self-preservation in them, do they? *sigh*

Can you smell what the The Rock is cooking? We’ll tell you. He was cooking up a nice little reply to this snub!

Yikes. TBH, Ben here brought this upon himself with his extra ‘dry wit’. Duh, Ben! Really?

And once he realised this could be the beginning of The End for him, there were some amends being made, literally the very next minute

We all fear death. And while death at the hands of The Rock would be a glorious way to go, Ben didn’t want to be leaving for the heavens so soon. His plea? A ‘zany sense of humour’.

But you see, the thing about The Rock is, while his exterior may be as hard as the thing he’s named after, he’s a real softie on the inside. Turns out, he totally didn’t feel bad about the sass!

Phew! Narrow save there, Ben! Very few survive after launching a sarcasm-laden missile at The Rock himself! And looked like Ben knew this very well because he was humbled and grateful.

Well played, Benny boy. Well played. Your idea of what constitutes sports might not be bang on, but by knowing when to concede defeat gracefully before a worthy opponent, you’ve displayed utmost sportsmanship. Take a bow!

Now, you know if anyone has to have the last word, it is going to be The Rock. Of course.

Touché, Rock. Touché!

What a way to exit an argument, right? Sure as hell, Twitter thought so!

1. Rarely has a Twitter bio been so perfect.

2. Someone pointed out that Dwayne’s character from Moana, Maui is equally good at comebacks!

3. Or… yeah, that would be nice too. But we still like the real version of events!

In an interview with Mashable, Ben spoke about how his cool banter with The Rock was a huge thrill.

“Admittedly, I’d be a bit bummed out if it hadn’t turned out he was saying it with good humour — not because I don’t want to be told to go fuck myself, but because I love The Rock and I didn’t want him to think I was having a go at him. The go-fuck-yourself-telling itself was a real buzz!”

 

Ah! All’s well that ends well, don’t you think? And what can we say to The Rock for making our day, except “Thank you!”
