Forget Tinder & Bumble, Techie Uses Facebook Marketplace Advertisement To Score A Date

Finding love has never been easy. People thought that they would be able to meet the love of their lives on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Some did. Others probably got their hearts broken by either the unavailability of people looking for serious relationships or the availability of walking-talking red flags. Then came the age of Tinder, Bumble and Hinge. But alas, those soon turned into a breeding ground for casual hookups and situationships.

Which is why a 33-year-old software engineer living in New York is looking for the love of his life on Facebook Marketplace. Yes, the man put up an advertisement of himself in case anyone wants to spend their life with him.

The name of the guy is Michael and on the Facebook Marketplace listing, he was seen wearing a blazer and rimless glasses. The advertisement read “Date Michael” and under it was written, “This is a personal dating ad! How embarrassing for me! But also (I hope) intriguing?”, quoted NDTV.

If you would have clicked on the advertisement, it would take you to a Google Form with more information about him.

“‘I’m kind, happy, curious, creative, and a major nerd. My aunt is certain that I’m ‘quite a catch. At the most basic level, I’m looking to meet a woman who is open to a serious relationship and lives within the reach of the NYC subway network,” the description read.

About his political leanings, he revealed, “Liberal/left-leaning . . . I like talking about politics but I haven’t made it my whole personality.”

Listen, if you cannot find love elsewhere, you have to broaden your mind and come up with other solutions! 😛
