In a short but impactful career in Bollywood, Taapsee Pannu has made a mark with her incredible performances in movies like ‘PINK’ and ‘Baby’. The actress’s next is ‘Naam Shabana‘, a prequel to ‘Baby’ in which she is seen kicking some serious ass.
In a recent interview with India Today, Taapsee spoke at great lengths about her career, relationship, why she doesn’t endorse fairness creams and more.
In a nation which is obsessed with fairness and has made an industry out of it, Taapsee has never endorsed fairness creams. And her reason behind that is pretty solid,
“I have never used a fairness cream in my life. I don’t think (that) being fair in any way superior to any other colour.”
As Taapsee has worked a lot in the Southern film industry, being fair has not helped her case in getting movies.
When asked if she ever had to use self-defence techniques in real life like she does in the movies, Taapsee said,
“Thankfully, since the time I have learnt it, no. I guess no one wants to take on me after that. But in school and college, there have been instances where I wish I knew how to defend myself.”
When asked if it was difficult to play an action role, Taapsee said that it was not physical, but the mental aspect of the character that was hard to portray.
Advising women to not attend to slut-shaming people and trolls on social media, Taapsee said that it is better to block such people than entertaining them.
“It’s not worth your time and effort attending to such people. They are doing this only to get your attention. And by giving them the attention, you are fulfilling their agenda.”
On the rumours of dating Olympic silver medallist Danish badminton player, Mathias Boe, Taapsee didn’t confirm the news but didn’t deny it too.
With such bold and inspiring views, Taapsee is certainly making her presence felt as not just a pretty face but as a voice to be heard. Can’t wait to see more of her in the days to come.
