Swami Om, the self-proclaimed God man, is infamous for trying to hog the limelight for all the wrong reasons. He has not been received well by the public for his controversial statements, and has been beaten up by the mob on several occasions. A similar incident occurred when Swami Om reached the Supreme Court and spoke against the verdict of Triple Talaq.
He, along with one of his ‘bhakts’, for lack of a better word, said that this is a matter of the Islam and hence only the community is viable to take a call on it. The man who accompanied him, further added, that Supreme Court had no right to make this decision.
As if this was not enough, Swami Om went on to say that the abolition of Triple Talaq will curb the freedom of men and give more independence to women, as compared to men.
He claimed that he also warned the Supreme Court judges to dismiss the ruling and threatened to launch a nationwide revolution if the verdict against Triple Talaq was passed. In a vide, he can be heard saying,
“Hum abhi se inko chetavni de rahe hai ki bandh karo, dismiss karo warna iska parinaam bohot gambhir hoga.”
The crowd which had gathered around him could not bear this anymore and started beating him as well as his aide, as seen in the video.

The Triple Talaq verdict was celebrated all over the country and it was collectively hailed by the internet.
