Ms Swaraj’s ‘Wedding Gift’ Ensured This Indo-Pak Wedding Ceremony Was A Stellar Success!

Sushma Swaraj has been our most social media savvy External Affairs Minister ever! Ms Swaraj has gone out of her way to provide help to those in need who contacted her on Twitter. She has ensured the safe return of a group of Pakistani girls stranded in India. A young Pakistani girl was able to secure medical college admission because of her.

More recently, she even promised to save a couple’s wedding function from getting ruined!

Last month, Naresh Tewani from Jodhpur tweeted to Ms Swaraj asking for help as his bride-to-be, Priya Bachchani and her family from Karachi were unable to secure Indian Visas for the wedding ceremony.

And Ms Swaraj was eager to help.

Nearly a month after her tweet, Ms Swaraj kept her promise. Priya and her family arrived in Jodhpur on Sunday and began wedding preparations for the ceremony to be held today.

“We are thankful for the quick response of the minister. All the 35 members got their visas to come to Jodhpur, though, in two parts.”

On the day of the ceremony, Naresh was filled with the utmost gratitude for Ms Swaraj.

And Priya was on top of the world on her special day!

“I am very happy that everything has gone on as planned and we are enjoying the ceremonies here.”

Naresh and Priya had been engaged for 3 years and were all set to tie the knot today. After intervention by Ms Swaraj, their wedding plans were a resounding success!

Once again, Ms Swaraj gone the extra mile to make that bureaucratic procedure did not spoil the love blossoming across the border.

Kudos, Ms Swaraj! You’ve won our hearts once again!
