We all know Shah Rukh Khan as a gifted actor who has been ruling Bollywood for over two decades now. He is an epitome of amazing acting and delivering perfection on screen. Over the years, SRK has given us umpteen memorable performances in movies of all genres and is still surprising us with his talents.
What many people don’t know about is, SRK’s role as a family man. The values he imparts to his children and what he expects from them. His views on being surrounded by strong women in his life and his take on the idea of feminism.
In a recent interview for the January issue of Femina, Shah Rukh Khan said that he has a strong take on his daughter, Suhana’s interest in pursuing acting as a career but with one condition.
“I have only one mandate where she’s concerned: she can act, but she has to study first.”
Adding about Suhana, SRK said that he does not want her to get any added advantage for being his daughter.
“I want her to experience what my female co-stars have gone through. My daughter will be an actor like them and I want to feel the pain.”
Talking about his sons, Shah Rukh said that he is an old-school father when it comes to parenting.
While King Khan wants his sons to treat everyone as equal, he also makes sure that they grow up to be a gentleman.
Shah Rukh also said that he doesn’t feel uncomfortable around women at all because he has always learnt to respect them.
Talking about Gauri, SRK said that he respect his wife for giving him space, without ever making a big deal out of it.
When asked if he is a feminist, Shah Rukh said that he always stands up and supports the idea.
Elaborating on his idea of being a feminist, King Khan said that he doesn’t believe that feminism means equality.
If there is anything that we learn from this interview is that SRK is as good at parenting as he is at acting.
