Long before he became the King Of Bollywood, SRK played the role of Lieutenant Abhimanyu Rai in the Doordarshan TV serial ‘Fauji’.

The TV series was written and directed by a Colonel RK Kapoor and hence was very close to reality. SRK, however, was not the first choice to play the lead. Col. Kapoor’s son was chosen to play the lead but he was doubling as a cinematographer too. Because he couldn’t do both the things simultaneously, SRK was picked.

And the rest is history. SRK looks just as intense and committed in these throwback pictures of him on the sets.
