While people are having a gala time hitting the webs and swinging across buildings, many of them have noticed a cute message on the marquee of a theater inside the game. There is absolutely no doubt over the fact that it is a marriage proposal, but what’s the story behind it?

Don’t worry, we are here at your aid.

According to reports, it is a message deliberately placed by the game’s developer to impress a fan’s girlfriend. Yeah, you have heard that right.

Tyler Schultz, a YouTube vlogger and Twitch streamer, contacted Spiderman’s developers Insomniac Games in the month of May with a weird request. He asked them to put a proposal message for his girlfriend somewhere inside the game in a bid to impress her. Much to his joy, the developers had no issue with it and matched his appeal.

With the launch of the game last week, people have already started their hunt for the message. And many of them have spotted it too! They were curious to know his girlfriend’s response as they thought that the man had hit the bull’s eye in stealing her heart.

However, things were not as they expected it to be. Tyler made a heartbreaking revelation through a YouTube video.

“The thing that sucks about this Easter egg is the date that I’m making this video now, three, four weeks ago, my girlfriend dumped me to go with my brother. Basically throwing away the five years that we had together and spitting in my face basically, saying this isn’t even the way she wanted to be proposed to, and left me. This might go down in history as the saddest Easter egg. Maybe, I don’t know.”

Well, that just broke my heart. Don’t worry lad, you’re definitely going places.
