Shilpa Shetty Has Revamped The Way We Look At Sarees With Her Fun Yet Stylish Experiments

There is something about Shilpa Shetty that just make her class apart. She has some serious acting skills as proved by her roll in Phir Milenge and her latke-jhatke in ‘Dilwalo ke dil ka karar’ can make you an instant fan. And then she went on to become the kween of reality TV- winning Big Brother and now as a judge sitting on the other side.

Though she hasn’t been very active on the silver screen lately, Shilpa Shetty does make herself prominent in the public eye. Whether it is through her reality shows or her uber-active social media accounts.

Her Instagram is the go to place for all things lifestyle. If you want some serious fitness motivation, fashion inspo or #VacayGoals then that’s where you should head.

Talking about fashion, there is no denying the diva she is. She loves getting dolled up, experimenting with outfits and giving her own fun twist to them, and gurl, we don’t mind!

Shilpa Shetty recently walked onto the sets of Super Dancer Chapter 2, a dance reality show which she judges. And boy, did she look fabulous!

She wore a oxblood saree designed by the one and only, Manish Malhotra. But this wasn’t just any saree. Nope. She chose a saree gown with a corset style bodice and a thigh high slit.

She paired it with a statement neckpiece, a handcuff and a massive rock on her finger. She stepped into a strappy pair of heels and took the look up a notch. Her hair was left open in soft waves and her make-up was bold, going for black kohl eyes and luscious lashes and a lip shade to compliment and not overpower her outfit.

And just between you and me her serious fit body just helped her cause in making her look super-chic.

This isn’t the first time she’s gone out-of-the box when it comes to her saree choices. Only a few days ago, on the same show she wore this gold-toned ensemble.

Designed by Tarun Tahiliani this nude-goldish outfit is a retake on the traditional saree. The pallu was mostly net, and the blouse was somewhat in a halter style. But my favourite part? The pleats of course! Just look at the way they fall and sway.

And if you think that is smashing, wait till you see her dazzle in black. With her pallu dropped and that beaded blouse. This one is definitely a difficult one to out-do.

Because her blouse had such detailed work on it, she paired it with a simple saree. Black strappy heels and her statement jewelry just tied the entire look together. And just a side note, aren’t her eyebrows always on fleek?

She had earlier gone for this white piece by Shantanu & Nikhil and let’s just say it was a long way from the traditional saree. The striped, off-shoulder, bell-sleeved blouse gives it a western twist.

She paired it with an emerald green necklace and some transparent heels. Her makeup was subtle and she went for that bronze-goddess-sunkissed look.

So kids, ditch that classic saree and let your fun, experimental self out to play once in a while. Trust me, your unconventional self is sure to stand out and shine!
