Shahid Says That An Arrange Marriage Is Better Than A Love One And His Reasons Are SOLID!

After making us wait for a very long time, the Shahid Kapoor-Mira Rajput episode of ‘Koffee with Karan’ finally aired on January 1 and boy, what an episode it was! Despite all the hype that was created around it, the show lived up to our expectations fully. Although the episode had a lot of fun-filled moments, Shahid’s candid views on arranged marriages and some revelations about his own marriage were the highlight of the show.

Talking about his pre-courtship period with Mira Rajput, Shahid Kapoor disclosed that Mira’s mother mistook the marriage proposal thinking that it was for Shahid’s younger brother.

“Mira’s mom thought it was for my younger brother since he is age-wise more in her bracket than me. I was apparently too old”.

After being in numerous alleged relationships, Shahid Kapoor had an arranged marriage. And the actor seems more than happy with that as he lauded the idea of an arranged marriage over love marriage.

Shahid and Mira’s wedding also received a lot of gossip about the age difference between them (thanks to the media). The actor took K Jo’s couch to reveal how a good compatibility between them has rendered the age difference meaningless.

“Yes the age difference meant that it was initially a bit hard to relate to each other, and we did face quite a few speedbumps along the way. But then as we spent more time with each other the speedbumps worked themselves out”.

After making the comment, Shahid also took a jibe at Karan Johar about the age difference.

“At 32 I felt the age gap, tera kya hoga Karan?”

A lot of celebs have spoken their heart out Karan’s show before. But Shahid’s staunch support to arranged marriages definitely takes the cake.
