Sachin Recollects The Time He Was Embarrassed In Front Of Big B Because of Son Arjun!

India is a land of many religions and you can definitely include cricket and Bollywood in that list.

For us, Sachin Tendulkar is the God of cricket and Amitabh Bachchan is ardently revered by his fans, who clamour outside his residence every Sunday for a single glimpse of their God.

So what happens when one God fanboys real hard over the other God? We’ll tell you! It makes you smile and go awwwww!

On the occasion of Amitabh Bachchan’s 75th birthday yesterday, Sachin Tendulkar shared a rather embarrassing anecdote involving his son, Arjun, and Big B.

In an interview with Mid-Day, Sachin recounts a funny incident that occurred when the three of them were shooting a commercial.

“He (Arjun) was only a year-and-a-half old then. We were shooting a commercial and in between shots, Arjun was sitting on our laps. Arjun was having an orange and after finishing it, he coolly wiped his hands on Mr Bachchan’s kurta.”

 

Imagine a situation where one of your idols is in front of you and your family does something to embarrass you! You wouldn’t know what to do, right? Well, the Master Blaster had the same reaction!

“I didn’t know where to look.
I was so embarrassed.”

Awww, little Arjun! You totally ruined Papa’s ultimate fanboy moment! Can you imagine growing up and being told you wiped your hands on the kurta of a superstar when you were a kid?

Sachin, the die-hard Bachchan fan that he is (but like, who isn’t?), even talked about the qualities of the legendary actor that he finds most impressive.

“His passion for the job, his longevity. To me, he appears tireless. The number of times he has reinvented himself is just awesome. What strikes me most is that Mr Bachchan is a happy man. But when it comes to work, he is still so hungry — still hungry to make a mark, still hungry to prove he is the best, still hungry to set standards for others. Even at 75, he has so much to offer. For me, that is the hallmark of a genius.”

 

Even his birthday wishes for Big B on Twitter are testament to his eternal love and admiration for the actor.

We love you too, Amitji! And for sharing with us this endearing little story, we love you a little more than before, Sachin!

Now all we want to know is what the Shahenshah of Bollywood thought of little Arjun’s antics!
