Indian daily soaps often show overly dramatic fights between daughters-in-law and their mothers-in-law over the most bizarre reasons. When we see these quarrels, we think they’re not at all realistic. However, something unusual recently happened in Gorakhpur’s Majhgawan village in Uttar Pradesh confirming that truth is often stranger than fiction.
According to India Today, a woman called the cops over a fight between her and her mother-in-law. When they arrived, she said that her saas sits in front of the TV all day and serves her stale food which is making her ill.
Then the mother-in-law complained to the cops that her bahu was always on her mobile phone and never helped her out with kitchen duties.
Subsequently, the police officers asked them to resolve their issues internally and drop their complaints. They were also issued a warning against making frivolous complaints.
Imagine calling the cops every time your sister borrowed your clothes and didn’t return them or for moms serving lauki, ghiya and tinda for dinner 😛
