This Guy Earns Over ₹ 3 Crore A Month Just By Streaming Himself Play Video Games

Video games

To say video games have improved since the 90s, would be a major understatement. We grew up playing the likes of Super Mario, Mortal Combat, Road Rash etc and were convinced that those graphics were the coolest shiz ever! But what once was dismissed as mere children’s games is anything but that now. Also, have you seen the high-tech graphics in games these days? It’ll blow your mind!

Well, get ready to have your mind blown a little bit more.

26-year-old, Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins who is a  professional gamer is said to make almost Rs.4 crore a month by playing and streaming video games.

In a recent interview with Forbes, Blevins made the revelation that he makes upward of $560,000 (which is INR 3,64,60,200) a month, just from his Twitch subscriber revenue alone.

Twitch, a subsidiary of Amazon, is a live streaming video platform, and Blevins is their most subscribed to and followed streamer in history.

In another interview with CNBC, he says that the game that shot him to success was Fortnite. He also shares that his goofy persona is what probably garnered him such popularity.

He says:

“We also just hit 5 million subscribers on YouTube as well and Instagram just hit over a million followers and I’m almost there on Twitter”

Now if you’re thinking about dropping out of school or quitting your job and becoming a full-time gamer, hold your horses. Blevins makes it clear that in order to get into a career as a professional gamer, he had to do well in school and maintain a job while finding extra time to stream his games and build his fanbase.

Despite his astronomical success as a gamer, if you thought he’s probably spending his money on crazy childish stuff, you could not be more wrong.

Blevins donates a portion of his income to various charitable causes.

Talking about his charity projects with Forbes, he says:

“Right away when I started developing a following and created the community that I now have on Twitch I knew I was responsible to do good with that audience. People can just put their cash away and continue to make money and never give back because they just do not care, but I immediately felt obligated to use my influence for good things. The suicide prevention/awareness charity I did was because I had recently lost a longtime friend and moderator in my channel to suicide. I felt confused and helpless about the entire situation and just needed to do something about it. In the future, I plan on doing plenty more fundraisers and charities, and I really just try to grab things that hit home. Last year I raised over $10,000 for two women (moms) that were personally affected by breast cancer and wrote them a check for five grand each to help with bills.”

Looks like we just got one more reason to play video games. But you’ve got to admit, being a professional gamer is no child’s play. Who would’ve known?
