There’s this phase in a girl’s life where she wants to try something new out. What’s the first thing that comes to her mind? That’s right-her hair. Her security blanket, her everything.
When a girl decides that she wants to get rid of her long locks and get something edgier done to her hair, she’s definitely thought it through. But, with great hair comes great responsibility- there are tons of people she knows she’s going to disappoint in the process.
Here are the things you inevitably go through when you decide to chop your long hair off.
1. The first very obvious reaction you get when you tell people about your plans is shock
WHY ARE YOU CUTTING YOUR HAIR IT’S SO LOVELY.
2. It takes a long, long time to convince your parents that you’re going to do it
And you could sit down with a tub of popcorn and watch while your mom reacts to your decision.
3. You’re a little bit nervous about it on D-day, but you decide to do it once and for all
Let’s just get this over with. What’s the worst that could happen?
4. You even face a collective sigh from all the beauticians in the parlour if you have thick, luscious hair
Can you stop making me re-consider my decision, please, ladies?
5. When that first chunk of hair gets cut, you can’t believe your eyes
Your long hair is in your hands now, and not on your head. It’s a weird feeling.
6. When the entire process is done and your well-styled hair is right in front of your eyes, you can’t contain your excitement
Shit, I look GOOD.
7. You walk around all confident, completely in love with your new hair
You can’t wait to show it off, but you’re also sceptical about the reactions you’re going to get. But first, #lemmetakeaselfie
8. As expected, people react in all kinds of ways about your new locks
Say something. Anything.
9. Some even fail to recognize you, and the look on their faces is priceless
“OMG I DID NOT REOGNISE YOU WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED?”
10. Some friends make fun of you just to piss you off
Lol you look like a boy lol. Lol it looks so bad on you lol.
11. The scariest part is to think what your parents would think of your new locks
Get ready for a few hundred minutes of ‘I told you not to do it’ and ‘Kitne acche baal they tumhare yeh kya kar diya’, to them finally accepting that you look cute.
12. After all the drama, though, people start to adore your new hairdo and they love how you can carry it off your way
And yeah, your parents will also give you their blessing. What more do you need? 😉
