Its been two and a half years since Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the demonetization of ₹500 and ₹1000 notes, which came as a massive shock to the public. However, post the entire process, the country has seen the birth of new notes with different colors and advanced design.
While the ₹2000 and ₹200 notes were introduced into the market, the ₹10, ₹50, ₹100, and ₹500 notes got brand-new colors.
And now, according to The Reserve Bank of India (RBI), the age-old ₹20 note is going to get a transformation. On Friday, the bank announced that it will shortly issue the new shortly issue ₹20 notes which will come in a greenish-yellow color.

According to NDTV, the note will also showcase the country’s cultural heritage in the form of an Ellora Caves motif on its reverse side.
“The new banknote has a motif of Ellora Caves on the reverse, depicting the country’s cultural heritage.”
However, all the previous ₹20 notes will continue to be legal tender.
