Winning Hearts! Afghanistan Cricketers Come To The Rescue Of Crying Indian Kid After Match

In India, cricket is way more than just a sport. Though a secular country with a variety of religions, cricket unites Indians better than any religion can ever do. And trust me when I proudly say that the passion, madness, and thrill about the gentleman’s game you find here, is a notch higher than anywhere else.

This takes us to India’s Asia Cup match against Afghanistan last night, which ended sensationally in a tie. While MS Dhoni‘s return as the Indian skipper was the primary significance of the encounter, a crying Indian kid in the stands has successfully grabbed people’s attention.

Fast forward to the dying hours of the game, India just needed a run from two balls to seal the victory. However, the match saw a dramatic ending as batsman Ravindra Jadeja fell victim to leggie Rashid Khan on the second last delivery. The fall of the final wicket broke a million Indian hearts as the match ended in a tie.

Out of the many hearts broken, one was that of a young Sikh supporter who broke down to tears. It was an emotional yet adorable sight as the little boy was being consoled by his father.

However, a heartwarming gesture from some members of the Afghanistan team ensured that the kid went back home with a smile on his face. While making their way back to the team bus, Rashid Khan and centurion Mohammad Shahzad were spotted clicking selfies with the kid.

If that isn’t cute, I don’t know what is.

The kid also caught the eye of the legendary Harbhajan Singh and even Bhajji pa took to Twitter to dedicate a few words to the die-hard fan.
