Rani Mukerji Reveals She Suffered From A Miscarriage 5 Months Into Her Pregnancy In 2020

Our society doesn’t discuss much about miscarriages, how common it is and the kind of emotional toll it takes on women. But it doesn’t change the fact that every year, countless women across the world suffer from the loss of their pregnancy and end up being discriminated against because of it as the awareness surrounding the topic is scarce. Hence, it is very important for popular figures to talk about it in order to make it less of a taboo subject.

Actor Rani Mukerji recently opened up about suffering a miscarriage 5 months into her pregnancy in 2020.

However, she didn’t make this revelation earlier while promoting her film ‘Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway’ as she didn’t want to make a promotional gimmick out of her personal loss.

“It was around the year when COVID-19 struck. It was 2020. I got pregnant with my second baby at the end of 2020 and I unfortunately lost my baby five months into my pregnancy,” Moneycontrol quoted her saying.

She further added that in today’s world, a celebrity’s life is discussed publicly and everything becomes an agenda to promote themselves and their films. And she didn’t want her experience of suffering a miscarriage to become a part of it.

“Maybe this is the first time I am making this revelation because in today’s world every aspect of your life is discussed publicly, and becomes an agenda for talking about your film to get more eyeballs. Obviously, I didn’t speak about this when I was promoting the film because it would have come across as me trying to speak about a personal experience that would propel the film.”

It must have been very difficult for Rani Mukerji and her family to deal with the loss of her pregnancy. Wishing her more strength!
