Apart from their bravery and determination, policemen are also known for being kind and benevolent like gifting a bicycle to a kid.
However, a video of a Punjab cop recently went viral and raised questions on these beliefs.
The video that was shared by Punjab Police on their Twitter handle shows a head constable posted in Punjab’s Fatehgarh Sahib Police Station stealing eggs from a vendor’s parked vehicle, reported DNA.
The video opens with the cop standing next to an unattended parked cart that is laden with crates of eggs. However, seconds later he sneakily goes near the vehicle, slyly steals a couple of eggs from the rehdi-owner, and puts them into the pockets of his trousers. He is seen doing this twice on a busy road.
As the rehdi-owner returns to his cart, the cop left the spot pretending nothing happened.
According to Punjab Police, the head constable, identified as Pritpal Singh, is suspended and a departmental inquiry has been opened against him.

People online were irked by his irresponsible behavior.
it is such a shame that even now he is just suspended and not dismissed.
punjab police is a great force and such persons have no place in this force even on post of peon.

Suspended why??
Should have been terminated from services…..alot of these kind of activities are cominv up now which shows the reality.

Such cops do spoil the image of Police with stupid acts like these, so suspension is a good call. However I hope the enquiry committee leaves him with a warning as it’s not right to terminate him from service with already surging unemployment rates.

I actually feel sorry for him. I am not sure what’s the condition of his family or his finances. I am guessing he just lives from paycheck to paycheck. He is a human too. Also does this really warrant a suspension ? Why not Just give him Warning first ?

Rather than suspension or inquiry try to understand why is he doing this “act”, the working hours and salary are not at all justified. All police personnel spend most of the day on duty and get paid very little. This is the reason for corruption but administration has turned deaf
