Child trafficking is a serious issue that is still prevalent in today’s society. No matter the motives of the perpetrator, this heinous crime should be put to an end.

According to reports, the girl was in a live-in relationship with a man called Vikas Vasava and her parents knew about them. However, after she got pregnant, her family refused to accept her and instead forged a deal with Vikas. The girl’s father gave her custody to the man for Rs 50,000, reports Times Now.

Despite knowing about her father’s agreement, the girl did not speak up until now as she was living happily with her paramour. However, the girl filed a complaint after he asked her to return to her parents’ house. According to reports, a relative of the girl instigated her father to extort more money from Vikas.

A police official was quoted saying,

“The relative told the victim’s father that Rs 50,000 was a small amount and he should have asked for at least Rs 5 lakh as the girl is still minor. The man then demanded more money from Vasava to keep his daughter.”

However, Vikas refused to pay any more money as he was just working as a casual laborer. But as the girl’s father kept pressurizing him, he asked his live-in partner to go back to her parents’ home. The girl’s parents and Vikas have now been detained. They are lodged in a quarantine facility.

Well, we’re just glad the girl is safe and healthy. What do you think about the entire incident? Tell us in the comments below.
