As of this day, we’re sure you’re either a Pokémon GO fanatic yourself or know one. Everyone has joined the frenzy, and you can often see people running around with phones in their hands to catch Pokémon, or not moving from a spot for a long time because the area is filled with wild Pokémon.
I’ve seen people playing the game all day and reaching insane levels, capturing innumerable Pokémon, and taking over gyms like it’s a piece of cake. But I’ve wondered what it’s like going really far into the game, reaching levels of 20+, hell, even 25+.
I think I have my answer now.
On Sunday, Redditor Verigood posted in the rapidly rising subreddit /r/pokemongo that he had achieved level 30, and shared a screenshot of the rewards he received after achieving the feat.
As soon as this post went up, Verigood was bombarded with a barrage of questions and queries, which he tried answering as much as he could. It went on to become more like an interview of sorts, and here’s what we learnt.
You will start losing Pokéballs rapidly once you cross higher levels, typically 25+, as Pokémon will avoid capture more.
“They don’t seem to run away very easily anymore, but you can expect to average 4-5 Pokeballs per Pokemon from level ~26 and up.”
He says that he had to actually pay to buy Pokéballs so that he wouldn’t run out of stock. He also confessed to buying as much as 58 lucky eggs, items that double your XP gains whenever an action is achieved in the game.
He also said that the game requires 350k XP to reach level 30, but that figure jumps to 500k to reach level 31.
You also get base Pokémon with insane amounts of CP. This goes on to prove that no matter how far you go in the game, there is no endpoint, and the game will just get more difficult for you to continue playing.
And, of course, to quell all of our peaked interests, he shared screenshots of his highest rated Pokémon. *internal screaming*
I’m going to take a week-long leave from work now and travel all over the city to quickly reach as many levels as possible!
