Parineeti-PC Sing Good, But Don’t Know If They Can Sing Well Live: ‘Laila Main Laila’ Singer

Parineeti Chopra starrer Meri Pyaari Bindu’s teaser trailer has fans gushing over Chopra Jr’s singing skills. After all, she’s crooning pretty well in both ‘Maana Ke Hum Yaar Nahin’ and ‘Abhi Na Jaao Chhod Kar’. It has obviously given the ‘exotic’ singer, Priyanka Chopra, reasons to be proud of her baby sis. But, there were people who pointed out the auto-tuning angle.

Amid all this, ‘Laila Main Laila’ singer, Pawni Pandey has taken a sly dig at the Chopra sisters.

 

In a recent interview with Pinkvilla, Pawni was asked about the extensive use of auto-tuning in Bollywood. And, she said,

“‘Jo real talent hota hai woh live performance mein samajh aata hai’ because that is the place where your real talent is tested. There are many singers who sing brilliantly in recordings but are really not that good in live shows. You can’t take it away from the real singer.”

 

About how actors and actresses are foraying into the musical scene and taking the mic, the 24-year-old added,

 

Finally, on singer-actor role reversal, the young singer said,

“A singer can act in cover shoots or music videos but they cannot act in movies. However, if the actors want to sing, I personally feel it’s okay. I don’t feel insecure.”

Pawni got noticed after she was placed in the Top 5 of the singing reality show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs, and ever since then, there is no turning back for young singer. But her major breakthrough came when she voiced for Sunny Leone’s Laila while re-creating Zeenat Aman’s iconic dance number for ‘Raees’.
