This Aunty’s Expression In #NickYanka’s Mehendi Pic Is Getting A Hilarious Meme Treatment!

Phew! This has been a tiring couple of days for everyone in Indian media. Two weddings, four phenomenal celebrities, lots of ceremonies, and oodles of FOMO generated. The 13-day long fest that was DeepVeer’s wedding is over, with the third and final reception held over the weekend. And even the much anticipated NickYanka wedding has also happened, although it is far from over.

While Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas’ mehendi and sangeet photos have been shared online by the couple, their Christian and Hindu wedding ceremonies remain private.

One of the most special things that our relationship has given us is a merging of families who love and respect each other’s faiths and cultures. And so planning our wedding with an amalgamation of both was so so amazing. An important part for the girl in an Indian wedding is the Mehendi. Once again we made it our own and it was an afternoon that kicked off the celebrations in the way we both dreamed.

Rumours are that their wedding photos have been sold to a leading international publication for a whopping sum. So chances are, we won’t be seeing them pop up randomly on social media anyway.

We’ll make do with the ones we have for now! And by make-do, I mean meme the hell out of this one particular picture, in which a certain relative auntie of PeeCee has gone viral for her facial expression!

This beautiful candid is from NickYanka’s mehendi ceremony. And despite a gorgeous Priyanka and our handsome Jonas Jiju in the frame, all the attention has been usurped by ‘shocked auntie’!

It all began as a fierce song & dance competition between the families but ended, as always, as a huge celebration of love.  Nick and I were looking forward to the Sangeet (musical evening), another pre wedding ritual.. and to see what each side had put together. And what a performance it was. Each family telling our stories through song and dance, filled with lots of laughter and love. We were both filled with gratitude for the effort, the love and the laughter and will carry the memories of this special evening for the rest of our lives.
