Playing sports teaches us a lot more about humanity than classrooms. It teaches us to handle failure positively and to keep on going. It teaches us the value of teammates and how we should always look out for each other. It also teaches us to treat our opponents with respect and lend them a helping hand when needed.
An excellent example of this is the recent U19 Cricket World Cup match between New Zealand and West Indies in South Africa. In a video posted by the official twitter account of the Cricket World Cup, players of New Zealand can be seen carrying an injured West Indies player off the field who suffered a major cramp during the match.
