Ever since we were young we couldn’t wait for the day we’d pack our bags and wave our worried parents goodbye. But what we didn’t think back then is, what it would feel like after we crossed our familiar threshold into a new city, with no mom to go home to. We lived in oblivion until we had to experience the world for ourselves
You realize the true worth of your loving mother’s presence when:
1. You start cooking and eating food that cannot be identified as ‘food’
You realize the true value of ‘Maa ke haath ka khana‘.
2. You spot a cockroach/lizard/rat and scream, “Mom!!”,with no response whatsoever
Now the battle of shooing the creepy crawlies is upon you.
3. You feel sick and all you really want is for Mom to pamper you and make you all better.
No more steaming hot chicken soup and cold washcloth times, it’s the practical you who has to take care of sick you.
4. You find yourself holding a broom in a sea of dust while wishing your Mom to come and take this responsibility off your shoulders
You can’t take your eyes off the dust because your mom taught you better, but you can’t get yourself to start because mom isn’t around.
5. Champi becomes a distant dream
You can’t be bothered to heat oil and give yourself a calming massage that will put you right to bed.
But what you can do is, use 6 Oil Nourish Oil in Cream from L’Oreal Paris
…so that you can show your mom how well you’ve maintained your hair, when you see her next. 😀
6. When you run out of toothpaste and a new pack isn’t immediately available like it’s there at home
Now I have to go all the way to the supermarket and buy it myself, that too with bad breath 🙁
7. You come home after a horrible day at work and all you want to do is rant to Mom about it
She’s your person and now happiness is no longer just a hug away.
8. You don’t have a standing shopping date who will honestly tell you if you look too fat in something
She’s your own magic mirror and now she’s too far to reflect.
9. You forget to pay the electricity bill in time and you’re sitting with a candle in your room
10. You put one red sock in a pile of whites and all your whites are now pink
Well, I have more pinks to match my other pinks. Great.
11. You can’t find a top in your cupboard and there is no one to check the same cupboard and find the top in less than a second
It’s plain mommy magic and she’s been pulling that trick since forever.
12. You pop a button on your shirt and realize that you don’t even own a sewing kit
How does such a huge thread even fit into a tiny little needle?
13. Lastly, you realize that you have to try out new hacks to keep yourself as special as your mom kept you when you were a kid
She’s a whizz in reaching the roots of your hair and covering every inch of it in oil. But L’Oréal has given us one less reason to miss our moms. Their Oil In Cream is easy to use and it makes oiling your hair a little less emotional without mommy and just as effective.
So the next time you feel any of these signs, call your mom up and speak your heart out. We bet she has her own list of instances when she misses you.
After all, home is where your mom is. :’)
