“I Am Equally Monisha In Real Life,” Says Maya Sarabhai. Where Was Monisha When She Said It?

In a few days, the world wide web will be glued to see only ONE show and raise your hand if you know what it is. Or don’t! It’s ‘Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai’! Maya, Indravadan, Rosesh, Monisha and Sahil have never left our hearts for reasons I don’t even need to list. And now when it’s time for them to make a comeback, we just CAN’T WAIT.

With an interview with Times Of India, Ratna Pathak Shah revealed a few details of the show! Along with that, she also confessed that portraying the elite Maya (who she loves BTW) is fun, but she is a little like Monisha in real life.

Man! I would give away anything to see the real Maya make that confession, seriously!

She also adds that Monisha’s character on the show believes in recycling and she does that at home all the time and it’s in fact something everyone should do.

“I absolutely agree with Monisha when she washes milk packets and reuses them, even I do that at my home. I think all of us should do it. It’s nothing embarrassing or low market about it.”

On being asked how husband Naseeruddin Shah and her family felt about the comeback of the show after 10 long years, she said…

“They were equally excited and happy like me. I am hoping they will like the series.”

Mrs. Shah also says that she had to watch the old episodes to prepare for the role of Maya Sarabhai. It wasn’t easy for her to get into the character after 10 years. But when she watched it, she realised why people love it so much!

Ratna Pathak Shah believes that ‘Sarabhai vs Sarabhai’ is a show that is one of it’s kind. Nobody writes shows like that anymore. Telling us why she chose to come back to the sets of the show she said,

“A show which is progressive in thought doesn’t stretch like a rubber band and has interesting characters.

Tell me another show on TV or web which has any of these. I rest my case.”

A point well made, don’t you think?

I don’t know about you, but May 16 is going to end all my life blues. Hey Sarabhais, come on air already!
