What’s the price one pays to be a celebrity’s kid? We must say a hefty one. Pap culture has always been questioned as journalism has evolved, over the years. With each passing year, the invasion of privacy on part of paparazzi has grown and photogs have no idea of personal boundaries.
In the world of “exclusive pics”, photographers go to great lengths to obtain image that will be splashed all cross the front page or home page. While our actors, politicians, sportspersons, officers are seasoned and attuned to the world of flashes, star-kids are not.
When you are President’s daughter, cameras ‘naturally’ point at you and the you have hawking eyes following each and every move of yours. Malia Obama has been under the media scrutiny when her dad was President for 8 years and they won’t leave her alone, when he’s not.
It was just this week, Malia’s video of kissing alleged boyfriend Rory Farquharson at tailgate went viral and media hogged limelight off it.

A video of her smoking rings has been leaked online and people have mixed reactions about it.
Soon, people jumped to Malia’s support and asked media personnel to let Malia live.
Let Malia live.

They even called out the conservative media.

Some expressed exaggeration!
So, Malia Obama was caught, on video — wait for it — wait for it —
SMOKING (gasp)! We can only hope she turns out exactly like this smoker. pic.twitter.com/pZGzSfEPB7

Some questioned the priorities of the media.
Let me get this straight: you're harassing a 19 year-old college freshman for doing something that is neither illegal nor harmful to anyone else while the sexual predator in the Oval Office continues to endorse a pedophile who was banned from the local YMCA for hitting on kids? https://t.co/eotqcoKy8f

She even found an unexpected support in Ivanka Trump, who tweeted,
Malia Obama should be allowed the same privacy as her school aged peers. She is a young adult and private citizen, and should be OFF limits.

So did ex-President Clinton’s daughter, Chelsea Clinton. She said,
Malia Obama’s private life, as a young woman, a college student, a private citizen, should not be your clickbait. Be better.
— Chelsea Clinton (@ChelseaClinton) November 24, 2017
The hashtag started to do rounds and the web agreed upon one thing that Malia’s private life is not clickbait fodder and that’s no way responsible journalism.

Why are people harassing Malia Obama? She is not the president of the United States. Her daddy ain't the president of the United States anymore. Let. That. Girl. Live. Her. Damn. Life.

Why do people care more about "Malia Obama" than a terrorist attack? What's wrong with ya'll?
She's 19 and enjoying her life. What she does on her own time is her business, not you all's. Let her live and focus on your own damn life. #LeaveMaliaObamaAlone— Anxious Hash brown⚡️💜 (@lashea___girll) November 24, 2017
We agree. Why can’t people let her live a normal teenage life. The 19-year-old Harvard fresher is enjoying college life and whatever she’s doing is something any teen of her age would do. So, why is it over-hyped and has become prime-time entertainment news?
Back at home base, we have often seen our star-kids being flanked by camera flashes when they didn’t wish to. Suhana’s uncomfortable face just flashed right before our eyes. Poor girl didn’t know where to hide and what to do.
Paps don’t leave a toddler like Taimur or Misha alone,
So can we expect them to respect Aryan’s, Aarav’s, Nitara’s, Ibrahim’s, Ira’s, or other star-kids’ privacy?
But we should, right. Can’t we just let them be? They would actually love to have a flash-free life. And, when they are ready, they would come and pose for the cameras.
