Locals Rescue IAF Pilot After His Fighter Jet MiG-29 Crashed In Punjab

In a shocking turn of events, an Indian Air Force (IAF) fighter aircraft MiG-29 crashed in Punjab’s Nawanshahr district this morning. The aircraft that was airborne on a training mission from an Air Force base near Jalandhar met with an accident, reports NDTV.

According to a statement released by the IAF, the aircraft had developed a technical snag. But thankfully, the pilot safely ejected mid-air, reported India Today.

Seeing the crash, locals working in the fields ran towards the spot and rescued the pilot after he fell on the ground. He was immediately given first aid by the villagers. They even protected him from the scorching sun by making a makeshift tent with their turbans.

People online applauded the villagers for showing such love and respect for the IAF pilot.

The local police and the administration were later informed, soon after which a helicopter from the airbase rescued the pilot.

It warms my heart to see how people rushed to the aid of the IAF pilot. This gesture of brotherhood shown towards him is worth appreciating. We thank the conscientious locals who came forward to help our pilot.
