“What Advice Can I Give Priyanka And Deepika? They’re Movie Stars!” Says Kunal Nayyar

Kunal Nayyar is a global star because of his hit character, Rajesh Koothrappali in ‘The Big Bang Theory’. Now, the talented actor is spreading his wings and making a mark for himself, exploring the industry. Married to Miss India, Neha Kapur, his life seems to be full and happy. Kunal Nayyar, as jovial as he is, he is also a very humble person.

In a recent interview, he was asked if he would give any advice to Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone who are newbies to the western shores of the entertainment industry.

“What advice can I give them (laughs)? They are movie stars. When you reach a certain level in Bollywood, you have a sense of protection; you become untouchable. That doesn’t exist that much in Hollywood. You still have to keep fighting [for good work].”

 

Recently, Priyanka Chopra was asked if she knew how to speak English before coming to America, she gave an excellent answer. When Kunal was asked if he had a similar experience of ignorance, he says,

“I have never faced that.  I am sure there are some people in this country (USA) who are ignorant, and there are people in India who are ignorant (about Americans). But a majority of the people that I have interacted with are fascinated by Indian culture, and are welcoming.”

 

When asked about the internet trolls, he says it’s all a part and parcel of being human and being socially active.

“Most trolls want attention, and the way to get it is to say something incriminating. There is a lot of hate online, but there is a lot of love as well.”

 

Speaking about ‘The Big Bang Theory’, the show that has been an integral part of his career and running in its 10th season, he says

“I am living the dream of an actor. To be in a project in which the quality of writing is exceptional and the chemistry between the cast is so amazing is any actor’s dream.”
