In Memory of His Daughter, This Karnataka Clerk Pays School Fees Of 45 Girl Students

We’ve always been taught that we should be charitable. Some say that it’s God’s work, while others deem it as a noble job. However, in reality, we only keep boasting about it and never actually share to bring equality in our society. And that’s evident in a statistic that shows that 73% of India’s wealth is in the hands of the richest 1% of the population. That said, there’s an exception in the form of Karnataka’s Basavaraj.

According to India Today, Basavaraj, a clerk from MPHS Government High School pays the fees of 45 of its girl students and the reason for doing so is really humbling. He said,

“From this year I have started paying the fees of poor girls who study in this school.”

Basavaraj is a resident of Maktampura of Karantaka’s Kalaburagi city. He lost his daughter last year due to a health problem. However, instead of letting the feeling of loss crumble in, he has channeled it into charity for these 45 girl students. It’s not only generous, but also a sign that humanity still exists in these dark times.

The girls of the MPHS Government High School are extremely thankful to Basavaraj. One of the students, Fathima, spoke for her class and said,

“We belong to poor families and the fees which we can’t pay is paid by our Basavaraj sir in memory of his late daughter. We wish his daughter rests in peace.”

Netizens were overwhelmed by Basavaraj’s generosity and lauded him for helping those who can’t help themselves.

1. It definitely should.

2. That’s why we should celebrate and appreciate it.

3. Couldn’t have said it better.

4. He should be the face of Incredible India instead of celebrities.

5. Exactly!

We’ve heard about a lot of Governmental schemes that are launched to promote education among women. And given the lack of initiative, we keep complaining about it and do nothing. Instead of doing so, we should take Basavaraj’s example and do whatever we can for the betterment of the society. We salute Basavaraj’s integrity and hope that he keeps doing what he’s doing.
