Jaipur Man Buys A Jaguar, Then Spends ₹ 16 Lakh To Get A Special Number Plate With ‘1’ On It

We all like to say that we shouldn’t have materialistic possessions and should strive to gain spiritual satisfaction instead. But on careful introspection, we’ll find out that all of us fancy something or the other. Some of us might like a particular dress or a certain automobile or a specific destination that we want to visit. And since these dreams aren’t easy to acquire, we perspire and toil to get it. One man from Jaipur did exactly that but for the oddest thing possible. The number “1”. Yes, the literal number “1”.

According to Hindustan Times, Jaipur businessman Rrahul Tanejaa spend ₹ 16 lakh to get a 0001 number for his Jaguar luxury car. He says that,

“I believe in being number one in whatever I do. I want my event management company to be number one in the country.”

If you’re hearing this for the first time, it might sound weird. However, Rrahul has been doing this for years. The 37-year-old businessman bought his first luxury car in 2011 and spent ₹ 10.31 lakh to get the number RJ 14 CP 0001. He has even bought a Skoda Laura just because its registration number was RJ 20 CB 0001.

Officials said that Rrahul waited for one and a half months to get the special registration number. However, as it’s a rare number, it isn’t always readily available. So, Rrahul simply worked his way around it to stick to his rules.

“Even in 1996 when I bought a second hand scooter, I made sure its number added up to 1. The scooter’s number was RJ 14 23M 2323. 2+3+2+3 adds up to 10 and 1+0 is 1.”

Rrahul currently runs an event management company. However, the road to fulfilling his whims wasn’t an easy one as he had to leave his home at the tender age of 11.

Although Rrahul’s splurging looks ridiculous and amazing, he had to go through a lot of hardships to get to this point.

“My life had been full of struggle – now when I have money, I want to enjoy it.”

After leaving his home Rrahul did a ton of odd jobs to keep going forward. He sold kites on Makar Sankranti, rakhis during Raksha Bandhan, colours on Holi and crackers during Diwali. He even sold leather jackets on footpaths to earn some money.

On the surface, Rrahul Tanejaa’s story about spending large sums of money might sound hokey. However, one shouldn’t stop looking there as there’s a real learning lesson when you see how he has achieved everything. And since Rrahul is another proof of the saying that there aren’t any shortcuts to success, we should take his example and keep working hard and never give up.
