There is a joke that resurfaces on social media every year during Ganesh Chaturthi where Mukesh Ambani joins his hands in prayer, looks at a Ganpati idol and says, “Bhagwaan, kuch chahiye ho toh batana.”

This is because the Ambanis have so much wealth that they can probably put an end to poverty across the world. They are so wealthy that if they misplace their car keys, they just buy a new car. Their idea of a ‘piggy bank’ is probably a solid gold pig. They probably also play Monopoly with real properties.
However, did you know that the Ambani kids – Akash, Isha and Anant – do not get a salary? That’s right. According to NDTV, the three directors of Reliance Industries will not be given a salary.
However, what they will be getting is a fee for attending board and committee meetings. They will also be getting a commission on the profit earned by the firm.
Just to give context, Nita earned a sitting fee of Rs 6 lakh and a commission of Rs 2 crore in the 2022-23 fiscal year.
This broke the hearts of several people online (LOL) who called this “exploitation” of young employees. Many questioned how the three siblings, who are all married and two have kids, are going to survive in the country’s current economy where the prices of fuel and gas are skyrocketing! 😛
Here’s a look at some of the responses:
Akash Ambani became a father for the second time in 2023. But he has to work without salary. Have u ever thought how he will manage his family? No. Because u only think about yourself. pic.twitter.com/VpXIgvF62E
