IndiGo App Sends Misleading ‘Salary Debited’ Notification To Users, Gets Slammed By People

As you may have noticed, once you install a necessary app on your phone, be it for food delivery or online shopping, the company keeps sending you notifications. These may notify you about ongoing offers or remind you about an item that’s saved in your cart. However, a couple of months back, Ola faced online backlash after it sent its customers a notification that read “8 missed calls from Mom”, which was misleading.

This time around, IndiGo sent a notification to its users that read “Salary debited” and underneath it was written, “Did that give you a scare? Put your salary to good use and book a flight to Goa today.”

A user on Reddit took to the subreddit r/India to share a screenshot of the notification and expressed that these notifications are “annoying”.

Many Indians online took to the comments section to express their disappointment on IndiGo and suggested to the user that they go to their Settings and switch off notifications for all apps excluding those that are important like WhatsApp. Others shared similar bizarre notifications that they frequently get from other apps.
