When travelling abroad, you may come across some fellow Indians who are a nuisance to others. From loud passengers on a flight to people who litter in public spaces, their behavior sometimes makes our heads hang in shame. Here’s a similar incident.
A man took to Twitter to share how, at the Priority Pass Lounge in Abu Dhabi airport, a fellow Indian took his seat while he was away grabbing a drink and didn’t listen to his family’s pleas. He went on to scatter food all over the ground and on his seat and left the trash behind.
“At the Priority Pass Lounge in Abu Dhabi, I got off my seat to grab a drink. A fellow countryman walks in, takes my seat despite my family telling him that it’s taken and while there are other available seats. Then he goes on to talk loudly with someone over the phone, spilling food all over the couch and rug, clapping occasionally to get food off his fingers. Banging his cutlery for no reason whatsoever, he finishes his meal, then leaves the trash behind and walks away. My kids and other travellers are watching him, disgusted.”
Clearly, this man came from wealth, as he could afford to go to the Priority Pass Lounge. It’s sad to see how people coming from privileged backgrounds lack basic etiquette. The Twitter user further shared pictures supporting his claim. We see how the seat and floor are dirty.
“The gentleman seems to be working in finance as he was talking to someone over the phone in industry language. This is a disgusting sight and while people will find me critical of it, it’s a fucking sad reality that fans stereotyping Indians.”

Several people online criticized the man for compromising the reputation of other Indians. After all, many people from western countries have terribly racist opinions about Indians. Incidents like these just further their beliefs.
Oh yes! As Indians get ahead of themselves in wealth, you’ll see a lot more of these people with bad manners. Like the Arabs of 70s and Chinese of the 90s!

This is gross. People like them create a bad name for the rest of us. And this is in priority pass lounge. Imagine how the likes of him in regular places. They are a disgrace. It may be a good idea to expose his face.

The citizens of any country should realise that when they go abroad they are the brand ambassadors of their country.
These kinds of Incidents hurt your country’s image & in today’s World it’s all about image & narrative which drives a country’s future !!

Similar experience yesterday at Delhi airport AI lounge and then in the flight. Guy takes out his phone and does a WhatsApp call to his family on speakers. Loudly. No consideration to his fellow passengers.

I had similar experiences at the Heathrow Airport. This entitled bloke thought the entire lounge is his property and was very rude to everyone around.

I have seen a few like these on our flights. My husband gets so annoyed, it creates such a bad impression of Indians in general.

One solution is a compulsory course in social, civil & moral manners & customs in every Indian school. Maybe not solve problem totally by at least a start can be made. when PM Modi introduced wonderful scheme of toilets for all his opponents made fun but ppl understood importance
