India-Pakistan relations have been a part of a lot of debates and diplomatic meet-ups but the bilateral relations are far away from what one expected. Call it the aftermath of hostile ceasefires at the LoC or the general political climate pertaining to the disputed valley of Kashmir, the blinding blame game between the neighbouring countries is beyond the board-room talks.
The last thing anyone wants to do is fuel the fire, but when the situation comes calling, it would be a folly to not give it back. Let me elucidate with a very recent example.
World leaders have gathered under one roof in New York for the 72nd session of the United Nations General Assembly. While a lot has been happening, I’d like to direct your attention towards Pak PM, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi’s maiden speech.Â

According to News 18, the Prime Minister accused India of indulging in terror activities against his country and warned of a “matching response”.Â
Not just that, he also re-instated that Pakistan will not fall prey to India’s “intense foreign military occupation” in occupied Kashmir. He also blamed India for committing war crimes and hence violating the Geneva Conventions.
But India, exercising its right to reply has made it clear that it will NOT entertain threats. Eenam Gambhir, First Secretary in the Permanent Mission of India to the UN, said,Â

“Even as terrorists thrive in Pakistan and roam its streets with impunity, we have heard it lecture about the protection of human rights in India.
World does not need lessons on democracy and human rights from a country whose own situation is charitably described as a failed state.”
In fact, giving them a taste of their own medicine, India went to call Pakistan ‘Terroristan’ due to its inability to curb anti-democratic and fringe elements.

“Pakistan is now ‘Terroristan’, with a flourishing industry producing and exporting global terrorism. ‘Terroristan’ is in fact a territory whose contribution to the globalisation of terror is unparalleled.”
