A Muslim IAS-IPS Couple Adopt Martyr Paramjit’s Girl And It’s A Proud Day For Humanity

The brave soldiers who fight for our lives on the border, without a care for their own life, are the real heroes. It’s because of them that we sleep in peace at night.

But ask a family, who has a loved one fighting at the border. Ask them, how do they feel every second of every day? Ask them, how proud they are, and also how scared they get?

On the night of May 1, Pakistani troops brutally beheaded Naib Subedar Paramjit Singh in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch sector, leaving his parents without a son, his wife without a husband and his 3 kids without a father.

42-year-old Paramjit Singh, hailing from Vainpoin village in Punjab was the only earning member in his family.

In a wonderful gesture of humanity, IAS of Kullu disrict, Yunus Khan and his wife IPS Anjum Ara have decided to adopt martyr Paramjit Singh’s 12-year-old daughter, Khushdeep. They contacted his wife, Paramjit Kaur and expressed their desire to look after Khushdeep until she is independent.

Khushdeep studies in class 7 in a private school that is located 12 kms from the village they live in. Khusdeep has a twin brother and an elder sister who is 15.

The IAS-IPS couple have a 4-year-old son and they say that by ensuring good education to martyr Paramjit’s daughter, “we are doing our duty as responsible citizens.” Setting examples for the world to follow, the couple also adds,

“Khushdeep will continue to stay with her family. We will be paying for all her expenses and meeting her from time to time to know about her problems and solve them. If she wants to become an IAS or IPS officer or choose some other career, we are there to help.”

Where there are crimes unspeakable of, we also have good samaritans like Yunus Khan and Anjum Ara who make us believe that humanity still has got some hope.
