Reddit User Shares How A Hyderabad Metro Co-passenger Gave Her Food As She Was Hungry

In a world which seems to be moving at an accelerated pace, where the hustle and bustle of daily life tend to overshadow our shared humanity, simple acts of kindness remind us how easy it is to spread happiness and make someone’s day. From offering your seat to an elderly person inside a metro to giving biscuits to dogs on the street, we sometimes underestimate the kind of impact such acts of compassion can have. Here is an example.

A user on Reddit (u/Prudent-Action3511) took to the r/hyderabad subreddit to share a heartwarming story about how a woman inside a metro offered them food because they were hungry.

In the post, the user shared how they were going home from Raidurg via the metro along with their friends. The user was complaining about how they were very hungry and even joked about stealing food from other passengers. A co-passenger who was a woman probably overheard the user and offered them her leftover lunch and fruits.

“I was going home from Raidurg in the metro and started complaining to my friends about how hungry I was. We were joking about it and I even pointed out someone’s juice bottle in their bag and joked about simply stealing it, they weren’t looking at me so I was safe anyway. A minute later this nice lady sitting beside us just asks us if we’re hungry. We look at each other’s faces and I nod. Then she says she has Pulihora that she had for lunch but left over, she said it’s still good tho. And then the other box is half full with pomegranates and asks if we want it. I hesitated but still took the pomegranates and ate them!”

The lady also asked the user to keep the container so that the Reddit user could finish the food patiently.

“She stood up only 2 mins later for her stop but said I could keep the box. I knew how important boxes are for us women(learnt from mom loll) so I just took how much ever I could fit into my hand and returned it to her. She insisted I keep it but I still thanked her and gave it back. She was just so sweet and this literally made my day!”
