While loving your dog to bits is a beautiful thing, losing your basic sense of humanity while doing so is something very stupid. And Emma, a Shih Tzu mix breed, had to give her life for a similar decision made by her owner.
According to News18, a deceased woman in the United States was extremely emotionally attached to her pup, Emma. So much so, that she made a will which asked Emma to be euthanized and buried with her.
And as a result, after the death of the woman, the pup was euthanized recently in Richmond, Virginia. Chesterfield County Animal Services, who were looking after Emma, made repeated pleas to the executor of the dead woman’s estate to not put down Emma but were ignored. Speaking about the same Carrie Jones, manager of Chesterfield County Animal Services said,
“We did suggest they could sign the dog over on numerous occasions — because it’s a dog we could easily find a home for and re-home.”
Emma was finally taken away on the March 22nd and taken straight to a vet where she was euthanized. Her ashes returned to the “authorized representative of the estate” after cremation.
The controversial and forceful killing was not taken lightly by the Netizens as social media saw a massive outrage among people. This not love, this is pure and simple cruelty.
