The IPL season is currently ongoing and cricket fans from across the country are flocking to stadiums to watch their beloved cricketers battle it out on the field. But imagine this: You purchase a decently expensive ticket, travel all the way to the stadium in this heat, tackle the insane crowd and walk up to your seat, only to find that the seat number that you have allotted is missing. For example, your seat number is J66 but when you arrive near the number, you see J65 and J67 but not J66!
Sounds ridiculous right? But this is exactly what happened to a guy named Junaid Ahmed who was allotted J66 seat at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad for the Chennai Super Kings vs Sunrisers Hyderabad IPL match. His seat was actually missing and he had to stand and watch the entire game.
“Disappointed that I’ve booked a ticket and seat Number was J66 in the stand. Sorry state that seat doesn’t exist and had to stand and enjoy the game. Do I get a refund and compensation for this?” he asked on X.
Imagine paying Rs 4,500 for an IPL ticket and having to stand and watch the game!
