Groom & Baraat Trek To The Wedding As Heavy Snowfall Closes Roads In Uttarakhand

As parts of northern India turn into a snowy wonderland, the picturesque places seem to be the perfect location for a fairytale wedding. Well, of course, I have always imagined my dulha to be no less than Raj from ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’. While my mom often reminds me it’s a far-fetched thought, I believe dreams do come true.

Recently, a groom walked almost 4km on snow-clad roads to marry his bride. As heavy snowfall shut multiple roads in Uttarakhand, Rajnish Kurmachali got stuck in traffic on his special day, reports News18. Not wanting to miss his wedding ceremony, Rajnish along with some of his relatives decided to walk the 4km long stretch to reach the bride’s home.

Check out the happy groom’s walk to remember:

The well-dressed baraat happily undertook the unique journey as children played with snow to reach their destination.

The groom’s brother Ashish Gairola was quoted by Hindustan Times saying, “We had seen a wedding procession like this in 2002 and now this was the next one. People will talk about this procession and the wedding for years as in both the weddings the groom was an army jawan.”

He also spoke about how the journey was not difficult for the family at all. He mentioned how none of them were feeling cold but were very excited and playing with the snow. This romantic gesture by the groom has left people on the internet in awe.

Many people were impressed by the love-struck groom’s efforts:
