Obama Loved This 9 Year Old’s ‘Garam Masala’ Burger So Much, He Invited Her To Dinner

Indian cuisines are known for their taste and spiciness all over the world. Many people from other countries have turned out to be big fans of the Indian dishes. If you happen to visit countries outside of India, you won’t have a problem spotting an Indian food joint. What’s more exciting is the fact that a 9-year-old girl is making headlines because of her food.

Shreya Patel, a 9-year-old Indian American girl from Schaumburg, Illinois has stumped The Obamas as she served them Garam Masala burger.

This girl, like many other kids, participated in the annual “Kids’ State Dinner” (which is organised by The White House), and won the competition. There were 55 kids that participated in this competition and also, they were given a red carpet welcome. This competition concentrated on making a healthy lunch recipe. Shreya had prepared ‘garam masala’ Quinoa Burger with she served with raita. After winning this, she was sent an invitation to dine with none other than the First Lady of the USA, Michelle Obama.

She had enhanced the Burger dish with garam masala, cumin, ginger, and grated serrano chillies.

Her grandmother and mother stand as a source of inspiration for this Burger recipe.

She said, “I have watched my mom and grandma make all sort of delicious food in the kitchen with an Indian twist since I was born. I have been helping them cook since I was three. I love to mix, measure, chop, and even clean up afterwards.” She even throws light on the ordeal of coming up with that recipe with her grandmother which also happens to be a common dish in schools and picnics. “My grandma and I came up with this recipe together because we both love sandwiches. We make this recipe often to take to school for lunch or even on picnics with friends.”

She hopes to become a pharmacist when she grows up, just like her father.

Well, kids are very talented these days. I hope she never loses out on her expertise of making food.
