Football Fan Molests Colombian Journalist On Live TV, She Hits Back With A Powerful Post

Male privilege is a societal concept that nullifies consequences and motivates men to do almost anything. It’s toxic, vile, dangerous and men who perpetuate it have been taught a lesson before.

For example, a female journalist roughed up a man for inappropriately touching her on live TV. It went viral and people came out in droves to teach everyone about consent. However, a few months later, all that has still failed to penetrate the thick skull of a male football fan.

According to Indian Express, a female Colombian reporter was approached by a man and harassed in front of everyone on Live TV.

The FIFA World Cup is being held in Russia and people from all around the world gather there to watch their favourite teams play. Additionally, reporters of the participating countries also attend the competition to update those who couldn’t attend the tournament in person. One such female reporter from Colombia was doing exactly that and was harassed publicly for no reason.

In a video that’s been uploaded by DW, the journalist Julieth Gonzalez Theran can be seen in Moscow, talking about the World Cup. However, midway during her report, we can see a man entering the frame and kissing her on the cheek without her consent. Nevertheless, Julieth doesn’t lose her cool and keeps doing her job like nothing has even happened. Her channel has come out in support of her and termed this as a ‘non-consensual attack’.

You can watch the video here:

“our special envoy julieth gonzalez theran was encouraged to enter the heart of the fanzone . A dangerous mission, from day one onwards: we reinforce precautions. It is not a kiss, it is a non-consensual attack.”

Although the Colombian journalist didn’t react on Live TV, she took to her Instagram and demanded that these kinds of action should stop.

“RESPECT! We do not deserve this deal. We are equally valuable and professional. I share the joy of football, but we must identify the limits of affection and harassment.”

It’s very apparent that the harasser in question doesn’t understand personal or professional boundaries and has zero concept about consent. However, since his actions have been caught on camera, the authorities can look into it and take appropriate action. Because doing that is the only way to ensure that women can come do the jobs that’s largely occupied by men and do so in a safe manner.
