When speaking of love, we have quite a few famous couples in history. Laila-Majnu, Romeo-Juliet, Cleopatra-Mark Antony, Shah Jahan-Mumtaz and lots more. And lets not even begin with the couples in pop culture. That list would be endless. However, the sort of love you hear about or read about in novels seem too good to be true at times. Especially in today’s day and age when old-school romance is a rare sight.
And on the few lucky instances when you do see it, you can’t help but feel a sense of hope and longing. A warm gushy feeling in your abdomen. Finally, some proof that all historic love stories weren’t complete lies.
Recently we had such a display of love and romance from the ex-PM of Bhutan, Tshering Tobgay and his wife Tashi Doma.
Tobgay recently tweeted a photo of himself and his better half while referencing an old tale about English writer Sir Walter Raleigh and Queen Elizabeth. As per the tale, Walter Raleigh had once laid his cloak over a puddle on a road to keep the Queen’s feet from getting dirty.
Though it is not clear whether this anecdote is true or false, Tobgay gave it a run for its money with this tweet:
Not as dashing as Sir Walter Raleigh, but a man’s gotta do what a man’s gotta do to keep his lady’s feet clean. 💕 pic.twitter.com/cSJWoMQm07

How. Frickin. Cute?!
Also, if Sir Walter Raleigh and Queen Elizabeth are too far back into history for you, maybe you’d like the resemblance the photo bears to this scene from F.R.I.E.N.D.S:
I repeat: How. Frickin. Cute?!
Tobgay’s tweet has predictably gone viral with netizens hailing the duo “couple goals”.
Do we need any more reason to move to Bhutan?! That’s clearly where love still exists.
