“Couldn’t Care Less If I Won An Oscar,” Emma Watson Talks About Giving Up ‘La La Land’

Hermione Granger is still the name with which we connect to Emma Watson. That smart, know-it-all kid taught us that reading is the new cool! She is the feminist, she is the thinker, but hey she is also a little burnt right now.

We know that ‘La La Land’ has swept the Academy Awards this year by winning 6 Oscars including one for the best actress. It was nominated for the best picture and also won it for 5 whole minutes! But jokes apart, the movie did quite well and there is something that some of us don’t know.

Initially, Emma Watson was offered the role of Mia in ‘La La Land’, which was wonderfully played by Emma Stone. A report has quoted the reason Watson decided to reject the movie.

”Watson was offered the lead female role, but she initially wouldn’t commit. Then she began making all these crazy demands, like rehearsals for the film must be done in London — for a film called La La Land!”

The ‘La La Land’ team really wanted Emma Watson to play ‘Mia’ and they tried hard to make it work with her. An insider said,

”They jumped through hoops to make it work with her, but she just didn’t feel the film was right for her.”

Emma Watson could have been in Emma Stone’s shoes but hey, fate after all! When asked what she felt about this cruel twist of fate, Emma Watson said,

”I couldn’t care less if I won an Oscar or not if the movie didn’t say something that I felt was important for people to hear.”

Sounds like Emma didn’t take it in a good stride.

But as fate would have its way, it cleverly played with the two Emma’s. As Emma Watson missed her glorious chance to win an Oscar, Emma Stone won the coveted award and she totally deserved it.
