As I kid I used to find the way Indian families stuff as many people as possible into one car/auto hilarious. It was the funniest thing ever! Especially when you throw in a few potholes into the mix. The ride would pretty much turn into a low-budget roller coaster ride. But of course, all that changed as I grew bigger and turned into this grumpy old woman. Now I see vehicles carrying more people than they were originally designed for and I scoff at how irresponsible people are when it comes to road safety.
But nobody on Indian roads has probably ever even come close to this one guy in the Dominican Republic, who stuffed a total of 18 people into one car.
Now, if you’re thinking this was some sort of conformist stunt to set a new Guinness World Record, then you’re wrong. It was nothing like that.
This was just a car attempting to transport people from point A to point B. Eighteen of them.
The car was stopped by some soldiers who made everyone who was crammed inside come out, one by one as they counted.
And so they started coming out…
And kept coming…
And kept coming out… Until the soldier counted 13 people inside the car.
But wait… didn’t I say there were 18 of them? So where are the remaining five? Watch to find out:
