Colleagues Surprise Doctor Couple Working On Their Wedding Day Due To Coronavirus, See Pics

With the coronavirus lockdowns in place, many couples have had to postpone their wedding plans or plan it with only 4 guests. For Sydney-based couple Max Allin and Greta Geninson though, this is happening for the second time.

According to Mail Online, their wedding scheduled for April 11 first hit a roadblock when their venue burned during the Australian Bushfires. They found a new venue but had to postpone the nuptials again due to the pandemic. Being ER doctors, both chose to work on their special day instead.

News.com.au quoted Greta saying,

“We’re working in a pretty vulnerable, remote community at the moment, so if people can adhere to the rules and try to keep case numbers down, that would be incredible.”

She added,

“It felt like a bit of a joke, to be honest. The other worry was because we’ve got so many friends in medicine, it meant that half of them were going to be working or in quarantine.”

According to NZ Herald, the couple received a sweet surprise at the hospital from their friends who fashioned a suit out of a black garbage bag for the groom and a white dress out of paper for the bride. Isn’t it wonderful that they took care to include the details like a buttonneire and a veil?

Their new wedding date is September 25 and we hope that this time everything goes off without a hitch as planned.
