Veteran comedian and actor Dinyar Contractor has been spreading happiness with his puns and jokes for years. He has been a part of some popular movies like Jhankar Beats, Baazigar, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi among others. He also played a pivotal role in adding more fun to some of the most loved comedy shows like Khichdi, Hum Sab Ek Hain, Khichdi to name a few.
But alas, the actor who added an extra dose of laughter to the childhood of every 90’s kid, will no longer tickle our funny bones. Dinyar Contractor has succumbed to ill health at the age of 79.
He left for his heavenly abode on June 5 in the morning, reports India Today. A popular theater personality, Contractor was honored with the coveted Padma Shri award earlier this year.
His death has come as a huge loss to the entertainment industry. Several celebrities from the TV along with the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Smriti Irani have expressed their sorrow and offered condolences on Twitter.
