Bengaluru Influencer Booked After Delivery Man Files FIR Against Her

Recently, Bengaluru-based content creator Hitesha Chandranee had accused Zomato’s delivery man Kamaraj of attacking her over alleged delayed service. In a selfie video, she showed her bleeding nose and said, “So guys, my Zomato order was late and I was talking to the customer care executive and meanwhile the delivery person just did this.” She had lodged a complaint with Zomato’s customer care to either deliver the food free of cost, or cancel the order as it was delayed.

On the other hand, the delivery man denied all allegations, and has lodged a complaint with the police. A police officer said, “An FIR was registered against Hitesha, the woman, who claimed to be attacked by a Zomato delivery man.” In the FIR, Kamaraj stated that Hitesha hurled abuses at him, accused him of defaming her, and hit him with chappals on March 9, The Tribune reports.

As per a report in ABP, Hitesha has been booked by the police on Monday, under section 355 (assault), 504 (insult), and 506 (criminal intimidation) wrongful restraint, assault, intentional insult, and criminal intimidation based on a complaint lodged by the delivery man at a Police Station in Bengaluru.

Previously, Zomato founder Deepinder Goyal issued a statement on Twitter assuring Hitesha that they would the police investigation and medical assistance, and also clarified that it was extending support to Kamaraj, bearing the legal expenses of his case. The statement read, “As per protocol, we have temporarily suspended Kamaraj from active deliveries, but are covering his earnings in the interim while there’s an active police investigation.”

Parineeti Chopra, Tanushree Dutta, and other celebs also took to social media to express their respective stands on the issue:

We hope that the truth is brought to light soon, and the real culprit is punished.
