In a decision that will make piyakkars very happy, Delhi Metro has stated that passengers will be allowed to carry up to two alcohol bottles while travelling. The bottles must be sealed and consumption of alcohol inside the metro is strictly forbidden, reports India Today. Passengers are expected to maintain proper decorum, said the authorities.
“A committee comprising officials from the CISF and DMRC have reviewed the list and as per the revised list, two sealed bottles of alcohol per person is allowed to be carried on the Delhi Metro at par with the provisions on the Airport Express Line,” Delhi Metro Rail Corporation stated.
Earlier, carrying alcohol bottles were prohibited in Delhi Metro except on the Airport Express line.
“In case, any passenger is found behaving in an indecent manner under the influence of alcohol, suitable action shall be taken under the relevant provisions of law,” DMRC added.
